Sing With Us!

New Members Welcome

The Bennington County Choral Society is a mixed adult chorus of voices drawn from southern Vermont and nearby New York and Massachusetts communities. We aim to foster an environment in which chorus members coalesce as a group and develop as an ensemble. Because our singers learn about choral singing from fellow members as well as our musical director, we each grow musically through weekly rehearsals and performances that are a source of pride and pleasure.

The Choral Society is open to all ages and singing/reading abilities and performs two concerts each year. Auditions are not required to join. Members are expected to bring a love of singing and are asked to pay dues of $45 per semester (fall or spring) or $75 per season (full year). Additionally, some seasons may require music fees. We always do our best to keep membership as affordable as possible. If the cost of membership or music is prohibitive to you, please talk with a board member.

The Spring Season begins with orientation on Saturday, January 27th. Rehearsals will start Monday, January 29th and take place at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Bennington on Monday evenings from 7-9 PM. Dues and music fee total $65. Singers can register by mailing their fee to BCCS, PO Box 44, Bennington, VT 05201 or registering below.

COVID Protocol

  1. Please do not come to rehearsal if you are sick!  We realize we have an attendance policy that states you can miss two rehearsals.  We will review absences case by case. We want you to sing when you are healthy.

  2. We are a chorus respectful of each other's choices.  Some might prefer to wear a mask, all of the time or when they feel the need for protection for themselves or their family members.

  3. Each singer is important to the chorus, so do your best for the chorus.  Learn your lines, keep each other safe and healthy, and have a rockin' great time!
