2026 Scholarship Audition

Scholarship Eligibility
The BCCS Scholarship is open to all high school students who live in Bennington County or in the neighboring towns of Williamstown, Petersburgh, Hoosick, Hoosick Falls, White Creek, Cambridge, or North Adams.
How to Apply
Select two instrumental or vocal pieces to prepare from the standard repertoire, each not more than five minutes long, which demonstrate contrasting styles or techniques. You can download the 2026 Scholarship application will here. Complete your application and email it to bccssingers@gmail.com by October 16.
The Audition
Applicants will perform their chosen compositions at a competitive audition on Friday, October 23, 2026 at 6pm at the Second Congregational Church in Bennington. The scholarship winner will receive their award at the BCCS Winter Concert in December. The winner will be invited to perform one of their pieces at the concert.

We have been encouraging young people in our community to continue in their musical careers for over 40 years! Many of our scholarship winners have gone on to do just that; teaching, composing, performing on Broadway and much more.
Every year, we award at least $500 in scholarship money to talented young musicians. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support for the continued study of music. The scholarship awards are based on a competitive audition.
There will be a reception to celebrate the students following the auditions. Winner(s) will be announced after the reception. Prizes will be awarded at the BCCS Winter Concert, where the winner will be invited to perform one of their pieces. Musicians will be notified of their performance time before the competition.
Applicants are asked to dress in performance-appropriate attire. Additionally, please bring three (3) copies of your music for the judges. Applicants are permitted to perform with a backing track as well as provide their own accompanist if they choose.
