Bennington County Choral Society Scholarship Program
Generously Sponsored by the Bank of Bennington
We have been encouraging young people in our community, and those in nearby New York and Massachusetts, to continue in their musical careers for over 40 years! Many of our scholarship winners have gone on to do just that and have performed on Broadway and much more.
Every year, we award at least $500 in scholarship money to talented young musicians from the area. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support for the continued study of music. The scholarship awards are based on a competitive audition.
There will be a reception to celebrate the students following the auditions. Winner(s) will be announced after the reception.
Prizes will be awarded at the BCCS Spring Concert, where the winner will be invited to perform one of their pieces. Musicians will be notified of their performance time before the competition.
Applicants are asked to dress in performance-appropriate attire. Additionally, please bring three (3) copies of your music for the judges. An accompanist can be provided if necessary. Applicants needing an accompanist should provide copies of their music ahead of time.
